Design Concepts

蘊藏城市歷史的百年老宅與百年相機品牌相遇,彷彿 命中注定。曾經繁華似錦,也曾沒落凋零的老屋,因 為這場久別重逢的相遇,展現旺盛的生命力。

The coming together of this century-old building, full of urban history, and a century-old camera brand was meant to be. The once-prosperous old building later fell into decline, but with this reunion, it is showing its exuberant vitality.

「百年品牌+百年老屋」是設計師最初始的概念發 想,如同樹木成長至少需十年,人才培育則是百年大 計,一個品牌的樹立,同樣需要長時間的醞釀,因此 設計師從天花板封存於壓克力的種子燈開始,至茁壯

成長為大量運用於空間中的木材,乃至於一樓凝聚視 覺焦點,將長達五米的台灣杉木一分為二,打造獨一 無二的相機展示平台,象徵著企業精神的同時,也緊 扣著用時間醞釀空間與品牌的主軸。而壓克力種子燈 與台灣杉木除了是具有精神意義的表象外,也作為現 場產品試用時,對焦與微距拍攝測試的對象。

“Century-old brand meets century-old building” was the designer’s earliest design concept. Like a tree needing at least a decade to grow, the cultivation of talent is a project that needs a century, and similarly, a brand needs a long time to develop. The designer thus began with ceiling lights containing seeds sealed in acrylic and went on with strong wood that was used prominently throughout the space. A central focus on the first floor is a Taiwan cypress log bisecting the space, creating a unique platform for camera displays. Symbolizing the spirit of the enterprise, it also closely fits the theme of space and brand brewing with time. The acrylic seed lights and the cypress log serve as spiritual

representations as well as optimal subjects for focusing and close-ups when customers try out cameras in the store.

老屋優美的建築以及帶有歷史質感的原貌,透過相稱 的沉穩色調與木建材包裹,帶來相得益彰的效果。仿 舊鐵件招牌,覆蓋於舊招牌之上,絲毫不破壞原始風 貌。一樓層層堆疊的弧形天花板,與相機觀景窗的框 景及景深效果相呼應,讓人領略空間與品牌的巧妙連 結。兩側展示區立面,延續長屋盡頭鏡像反射效果, 讓空間縱向、橫向均得以延伸。空間立面刻意裸露一 段舊牆,用歷史建材述說老屋動人的故事,旁邊則以 職人手工塗刷特殊塗料的質樸自然材質相呼應。

The elegant architecture of the building and its historical appearance were wrapped in matching earth tones and wood for a complementing effect. An antique-looking metal sign covers the old one, maintaining the original style. The layers of rounded arcs on the first-floor ceiling resemble camera

viewfinders and accent the depth of field, creating a subtle connection between the space and the brand. Mirrors on the display walls on both sides visually expand the space vertically and horizontally. A section of the old walls was intentionally left exposed, using the historical materials to tell the moving story of this old building. Next to it, there are rustic natural materials that were hand-painted with a special paint.

街屋層次分明的三進格局,利用空間盡頭圓鏡,結合 穿透式設計,讓人感受直指核心的衝擊,同時呼應相 機鏡頭與底片鏡像反射的奧妙。通往中庭的門,則復 刻老屋既有窗稜圖騰,彰顯深具識別性的重複語彙。 中庭重整的庭園,則是為老屋引光,讓城市旅人親近 自然,舒放身心的最佳場域。

The building has a distinct triple-entrance layout. A round mirror at the end of the space and many hollow or transparent designs give the feeling of direct access to

the core and are remindful of camera lenses and the mirrored images on negative film. The doorway to the central courtyard comprises replicas of the building’s original window patterns, highlighting the distinguishing and repeating dialogue. The remodeled central courtyard brings light into the old building, bringing urban visitors closer to nature and providing an optimal venue for mental and physical relaxation.

屋中的一桌、一椅,皆與歷史建物充分融合,絲毫沒 有違和感。尤其二樓窗邊ㄇ字型座椅區,在老屋獨特 的窗稜光影投射下,讓人充分感受時光停駐的靜謐。 三樓商業攝影棚,不僅替老屋重生注入新意,同時也 與品牌形象緊密相合。

Each table and chair in the building is fully merged with the historical building, none out of place. The area next to the window with seats on three sides of the room, under the unique shadows of the old building’s window patterns, particularly gives the feeling of silence where time has

stopped. The commercial photography studio on the third floor injects new meaning into the old building and closely corresponds to the brand image at the same time.

當時間不斷往前推進,百年老屋不僅見證城市發展的 軌跡,更給予空間使用者及有緣造訪的旅人們,重新 發現生命喜悅的樂趣。

As time progresses unceasingly, the century-old building has witnessed the development of the city, and now it is helping users and visitors of the space rediscover the fun and joy of life.
